Bill Henderson, professor of law at the Indiana University—Bloomington has spent his career analyzing the business side of the legal profession, which has earned him the reputation as a legal innovator, and according to the ABA Journal, a legal rebel.
In addition to teaching business law, Bill has focused his efforts on better preparing students for law careers, developing new courses and establishing the Center on the Global Legal Profession, which is developing materials to help attorneys understand international legal systems.
No other law school in the country is offering courses like Bill’s "Law firms as Business Organizations" and "The Legal Profession," which explores how different practice settings influence the moral and ethical duties of lawyers.
Recognized as one of the foremost experts on the market trends affecting the business of law, Bill speaks to law firms and legal organizations all over the country, sharing insights on the future of legal services and the results of his empirical research. To study law firm management and private practice, Bill founded the Law Firms Working Group, co-sponsored by the American Bar Foundation, which draws members from business, economics, law, sociology, political science and psychology.
